Job Summary

The primary responsibility for the Sales Associate will be to handle day-to-day incoming customer requests including pricing, quotations, spec sheets, product research, etc. Proactively call customers to follow-up on outstanding quotations, invite them to seminars/training, and introduce new products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage day to day customer sales requests and provide superb customer service to our walk and call in customers

Email customer quotations, sales specials/promotions, etc.

Provide guidance to our customers on product requirements/applications

Proactively make contact with assigned customers and prospects

Grow existing and new customer accounts

Process orders via our software

Gain knowledge of the products we distribute and learn how/when to apply them

Perform product research with manufacturers to support customer requests

Maintain a current customer/prospect database

Make at least 20 out bound cold calls daily

Establish a one-on-one relationship with assigned customer or prospect

Maintain your open order and quote reports as well as provide information and feedback when requested

Maintain our "will call" shelf and printed pick tickets

Take ownership of advertising company, product displays, and merchandising of products

Assist with merchandising and product displays and ensure our sales floor is stocked and presentable at all times

Attend our weekly sales meeting when they are scheduled

Gain a strong understanding of our industry, our products, market trends and technology

Process RMA's at the direction of the Branch Manager

Verification of outbound shipments (quality check)

Support Branch Manager with Vendor Events and Counter days

Attend industry events when required

Provide market feedback to management when required

Education/ Experience/ Position Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in a similar sales role

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Positive, assertive person comfortable with building customer relationships

Prior experience with intrusion, fire, IP or networking is preferred

Strong computer literacy within the Microsoft Office suite

Highly organized, motivated and able to maintain professionalism at all times

Aptitude to familiarize yourself with industry knowledge/technology
