A prestigious legal firm is actively searching for an accomplished billing manager to integrate into their team in the Oakland region. The selected candidate will have the responsibility of supervising the organization's billing activities, ensuring that all invoices are accurately prepared and swiftly dispatched to clients. This role also includes the management of a team of billing facilitators, provision of necessary training, ensuring company guidelines are adhered to, and offering supervision and advice when required. Part of the role will also entail the individual undertaking billing tasks themselves.
SCOPE OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe appointed individual will be expected to manage and mentor the team of billing coordinators, which encompasses training, work allotment, performance evaluation, recruitment, disciplinary measures, and potential dismissals. They will be tasked with ensuring that all time-related matters are logged and released by relevant staff within the stipulated monthly schedule. They will also manage and expedite the billing workflow, including ensuring timely distribution of prebills and ensuring that billing attorneys return edited prebills in line with the monthly schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREDA Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred. The individual should have more than five years of experience in billing management within a legal setting, with proven experience in effecting improved team performance. They must have a significant understanding of law firm billing/accounting software such as Elite, Aderant, LMS. They need exceptional analytical skills along with meticulous attention to detail. They are also expected to have strong project management skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
