Pastry Chef Job Summary
Design and execute breakfast pastry offerings, bread work, and
dinner dessert program at Sirene, an upcoming wine and
seafood-focused restaurant in Oakland, CA. The role offers creative
freedom to experiment with local ingredients and develop a polished
pastry menu for the Oakland dining scene.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design a pastry menu that aligns with Sirene's focus on seasonal,
high-quality ingredients and local flavors.
* Collaborate with the executive chef to ensure cohesion between
dessert and savory courses.
* Oversee and execute daily pastry production, ensuring consistent
quality and presentation.
* Manage pastry inventory and control costs, ensuring ingredients
are fresh and used efficiently.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in pastry techniques and
ensure high standards of operation.
Qualifications:
* At least 3 years of experience as a pastry chef in fine dining or
a similar upscale setting.
* Proficient in a wide range of pastry techniques with strong
creative and artistic abilities.
* Detail-oriented, organized, with a passion for experimentation
and flavor balance.
