Job description:
Leadership and Strategy:


  • Develop and implement operational strategies that enhance the efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction within the medical department.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set and achieve departmental goals aligned with the organization's objectives.

    Operational Management:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the medical department, including clinical services, patient care, and resource management.
    • Ensure the availability and proper functioning of medical equipment and supplies.
    • Monitor and improve operational workflows to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.

      Quality Assurance and Compliance:

      • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
      • Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
      • Address and resolve any operational issues that may affect patient care or staff performance.

        Financial Management:

        • Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
        • Monitor financial performance, including revenue generation, cost control, and financial reporting.
        • Identify opportunities for financial improvement without compromising the quality of care.

          Patient Experience:

          • Oversee initiatives aimed at improving patient experience and satisfaction.
          • Handle patient feedback and complaints, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
          • Work with clinical teams to implement patient-centered care models.

            Staff Management and Development:

            • Recruit, train, and retain high-quality medical and administrative staff.
            • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and create development plans.
            • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.

              Data and Reporting:

              • Analyze operational data to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
              • Prepare and present regular reports on departmental performance, challenges, and opportunities.
              • Utilize data analytics to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

                Stakeholder Management:

                • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including medical staff, patients, regulatory bodies, and suppliers.
                • Represent the department in meetings, conferences, and other forums as required.
                • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to support the department's objectives.

                  Education:

                  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree (MBA, MHA) is preferred.
                  • Clinical background (e.g., MD, RN) is highly desirable.

                    Experience:

                    • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in healthcare operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
                    • Proven track record of managing complex medical operations in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare organization.

                      Skills and Competencies:

                      • Strong leadership and people management skills.
                      • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality standards, and accreditation processes.
                      • Excellent financial management and budgeting skills.
                      • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
                      • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
                      • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
                      • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
