  • Oversee all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax and audit functions.
  • Direct financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO, COO and CFO, as well as Board of Directors.
  • Supervise the investment and portfolio strategy managed by third-party investment firms.
  • Study, analyze and report on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth.
  • Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee accounting operations involving coordination with public agency, cost rates, revenues, and financial analysis.
  • Review reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures and suggest improvements needed.
  • Coordinate tax planning processes.
  • Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, and advising management on needed actions.Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
    • Proven working experience as a Controller, preferably in the finance sector.
    • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
    • Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial management principles and regulations.
    • Proficient in all aspects of corporate accounting and regulatory compliance.
    • Proven experience in financial analysis and forecasting.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to strategize and solve problems.
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
    • Proficient in MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels and who represent a variety of diverse backgrounds.
