Job Description:
SUMMARY:The Accounting Clerk, under limited supervision from the
Accounting Supervisor and Accounting Manager, will perform a wide
range of accounting clerical tasks, including accounts payable,
accounts receivable, and other departmental support as needed. This
role requires regular interaction with employees and management
involved in purchasing and receiving goods or services, as well as
some communication with customers, especially those using credit
cards for purchases. The Accounting Clerk will also serve as the
primary backup for the receptionist during breaks, lunches,
vacations, and other absences.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:I.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE
- Match receivers, purchase orders, and invoices for
processing.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, prepare schedules, and
provide support for purchase orders. Enter invoice packages into
the accounting system.
- Select invoices for payment.
- Produce check runs and attach invoice packages to checks.
- Prepare manual checks as needed.
- Code and enter data into the accounting system.
- Provide backup for vendor statement reviews, investigating
discrepancies or omissions.
- Assist with annual 1099 preparation.
- Conduct research and prepare analyses as required by
management.II. ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
- Prepare daily sales invoices for distribution.
- Provide backup for coding and data entry of sales invoices and
payments.
- Update customer master files as needed.
- Provide backup for preparing and posting daily cash
receipts.
- Assist with processing credit card sales, including contacting
customers when necessary.
- Prepare and transmit fax authorizations, track responses, and
handle necessary follow-ups.
- Post authorizations and sales transactions to the credit card
processing system.
- Prepare and distribute credit card reports.III. RECEPTIONIST
BACKUP
- Serve as the primary backup receptionist during breaks,
lunches, vacations, and other absences as required.
- During the grape crush season, alternative coverage for these
duties will be arranged.IV. ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTING SUPPORT
- Provide backup for sending, logging, and distributing
faxes.
- Follow up on any unreceived daily/weekly faxes.
- Receive daily employee and production schedules and maintain
inventory schedules and shopping lists, informing relevant
personnel of fax receipts.
- Prepare monthly sales reports and reconcile them with
accounting and production shipping reports.
- Cost alcohol work orders, summarize costs, and prepare monthly
reports. During the season, alternate personnel will cover these
duties.
- Enter grower weigh tags into the commodity system, run reports,
and reconcile totals.
- Produce and distribute daily crush reports.
- Cross-train for other tasks within the
department.QUALIFICATIONS:To successfully perform this job, an

- High School diploma or GED required.
- AA Degree or equivalent preferred, and/or two years of related
experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer
applications is desirable.2. English Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, especially
when presenting information to groups of employees.3. Mathematical
Skills
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest,
commissions, proportions, and percentages.
- Basic understanding of algebra and geometry concepts.4.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and manage various concrete
variables where limited standardization exists.
- Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions in written,
oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and
draw valid conclusions.5. Other Requirements
- Intermediate or higher proficiency in word processing and
spreadsheet applications.
- Familiarity with internet search engines and basic database
management.
- Typing speed of 40 words per minute or more, along with
proficiency in ten-key by touch.Shift: 1st Pay: $18-$26Pay range
